Julie Eotvos has extended an invitation to the churches of Tamborine Mountain to participate together in presenting a large scale Christmas event, aptly named The Tamborine Mountain Community Christmas Event, as an outreach to both the local and wider community. We believe this event will not only serve as an outreach, but that it will also unite our community as it brings to life the true meaning of Christmas and its message; something that very sadly, is gradually being eroded by present popular culture and current belief systems.

This Christmas event comprises three integral parts:

The Bethlehem Trail:  This is where history will be recreated as the Convention Centre grounds are transformed into the streets of Bethlehem where the Christmas story, as foretold in the Gospels, will be re enacted so that the audience may witness the events that led up to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Carols by Candlelight:  The Bethlehem Trail will culminate in a ‘Carols by Candlelight’ style gala concert including performances by local and celebrity guest artists. The Moreton Bay Symphony Orchestra will return and combine once again with The Tamborine Mountain Orchestra, the Tamborine Mountain Dance Academy AND our schools to make this a truly excellent cultural event. The Chamber of Commerce are also supportive of this event and have been assisting with it’s promotion.

Food Stalls/soup kitchen and Secret Pantry there will also be food stalls - set up in a similar way to how the Day of Thanks operated along with soup kitchen and Secret Pantry, to assist and provide much needed relief to those in our community that are struggling to make ends meet. It also plans to support, where possible, certain charitable organisations.

The Steering Committee for this event will also be making applications for various government grants, but will be seeking sponsorship and donations.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?  We need actors, singers, musicians, AND animals.

We will need caterers, people to bake cakes and or savouries etc, volunteers to man stalls, guides/attendants, set up/pack down etc.

Advertising/distributing flyers, word of mouth and so on.

To give you a better idea of what help is needed, or in what ways you can be involved,  please contact either Julie Eotvos 0458005989.
